Menu Plan Monday

Monday – Ham and Potato Casserole (I’m looking to use up the Velveeta cheese we have leftover from New Year’s Eve dip recipes - if anyone has other ideas for using up Velveeta, please let me know!)
Tuesday – Whole Chicken in the crockpot (I’m taking it out about a half hour before we eat to put it in the oven at 350 – it helps the skin to be more crisp!), Noodles with butter and Savory, Peas
Wednesday – Tacos (adding in some rice to help stretch the meat a bit)

Bubba’s Week in Review: Things a 2 Year Old Can Do!

Welcome to the “week in review”, according to our 2-year-old son, “Bubba”.
My Favorite Toy this Week:

I really enjoyed playing with my two cars, one blue one and one red one, that I got last week for my birthday.  I line them up and have them chase each other along the edge of the tables, the pack ‘n’ play, on the carpet – pretty much anywhere I can.
My Food of the Week: Oatmeal!

Mommy makes me a bowl of oatmeal each morning for breakfast.  I really like oatmeal.  She put honey in it …

Crafting Away, Quick and Easy Gifts to Make »

[31 Jan 2010 | No Comment | ]

I absolutely love Homemade by Jill’s blog!  She has such great ideas for crafting and posts very clear and easy-to-follow tutorials.  If you have a minute, even if you aren’t very crafty, her pictures are fun to look at!
For a great example of what I’m talking about, check out her tutorial on making burp cloths – it includes a free printable pattern!
These would make great baby shower gifts – what about rolling them up individually and tying them each with a ribbon?

Wow, I haven’t written a “crafting away” post in quite a while… Things have been pretty busy around here for us!
Valerie over a Frugal Family Fun has a great tutorial on how to make your own scratch and sniff!
I thought for sure that it had to be some complicated process but it’s so easy!
This will be a fun one that Bubba and I will have to try… maybe we can make something fun to give out as favors at his and his Baby Sister’s upcoming birthday party!  I should keep …

My Walgreens trip: Spent $1.96, saved over $7

Yesterday, the kiddos and I made our trip to Walgreens.  I was excited to be able to get a few treats for just a couple dollars!  The Chex mix, I plan to save to put into little baggies to take along to church on Sundays.  Our service ends at the time that we normally eat lunch so I like to have a snack for Bubba to eat in the car on the way home (I have found that this keeps him much happier after his tiring morning out and helps …

The Finer Things: Coffee and Eggs

I was thinking this week about what a spoiled wife I am… Each morning, before he leaves for work, my hubby makes me a couple of fried eggs (while he makes his own) and a mug of coffee (he’s the only one who can make mine just right).  A lot of the time, after having been up with a few times throughout the night with our Baby Girl, I’m not even out of bed by the time he heads out the door.  But, when I do get up, my breakfast …
